Pre-Release of DEX 3.4 Is Here – Free Download for PCDJ Users!

DEX 3.4 (DJ, VJ and Karaoke Software ) for MAC and Windows pre-release has just dropped with a myriad of new features and performance improvements.

DEX 3 is designed for DJs that want to provide their audience with the total multimedia experience, and you can download the pre-release below and take it for a test spin today.

The 3.4 update is fairly major, with many under-the-hood upgrades and a sprinkling of additional features including a new BPM detection engine (which is more of a “beat map”) and improved Auto-Cue that will maximize and strengthen DEX 3’s core mixing capabilities. Another notable addition is support for Icecast ; you can now broadcast your mixes via internet radio (we’ll release documentation for how to use Icecast in DEX 3 shortly!)

Our development team has worked hard to bring you the best DJ mixing software platform available, releasing updates monthly. While this update is quite robust what we have in store for 3.5 is truly exciting, and for many game-changing — but we won’t get let the cat out of the bag just yet!

Here’s What’s New And Improved In PCDJ DEX 3.4

Changes:

Brand new BPM detection engine (beta)
Icecast support (beta) – broadcast your live mix
Loop “Slip mode” setting – when exiting the loop it will continue as if no looping occurred (from the position it ought to be)
Auto-Cueing completely revamped:
Automatically detected mix-in and mix-out cue points
Setting to use either soft sounds or percussion for the in/out cue points detection
Setting to use or not Auto-cueing when loading and for Auto-Mix
FX engine refactoring (internal)
Samplers improvements incl. Sampler play modes (normal, stutter, instant/momentary), recording, waveform, cutoff filter, monitoring (pre-listen)
Controllers can now be detected using USB VID:PID also on Mac
Denon MC-6000 MK2 fully supported (Script included)
When exiting search DEX 3 restores the last viewed list/folder
Graphics rendering improvements (eg. better looking text)
Setting to change between then new and the old (compatibility mode) BPM detection
Other bug fixes and performance optimizations

Known issues:

Icecast problems with metadata (not always updating) and problems keeping/making the connection sometimes (solution: restart the app)
Some have reported distortion with some sound card configurations (were are looking into this now)
